London, 18 June 2021
Intriva Capital (“Intriva”), the independent alternative asset manager, today announces the appointment of Kawai Chung, a new senior addition to its asset management team. The appointment of Kawai adds depth to Intriva’s expertise in the capital markets and financial services sectors.
Kawai Chung joins as Managing Director within the Asset Management team, and will be responsible for managing Intriva’s regulated financial services investments and providing oversight and advice on debt and capital market funding solutions. Kawai has more than 17 years’ experience in capital markets and joins from ARA Venn, where he was Head of Capital Markets and Structuring. Prior to this, he spent 11 years at RBS working in structured finance, asset backed products and debt capital markets.
This new addition to the team follows the recent appointment of Felix Mesch, who joined Intriva as Senior Analyst in April 2021 from Moelis and Company, having worked within their European Restructuring Practice. Felix will assist with the analysis and execution of both investment and asset management initiatives across Intriva’s portfolio.
Tom Saunders, Head of Asset Management at Intriva Capital, said:
“We’ve had a busy 12 months and have every intention of continuing to expand our investment portfolio throughout Western Europe. As a hands-on investor, we need an asset management team with the capability to execute based on the successful deployment of capital since inception. Kawai and Felix bring a wealth of expertise from leading global financial institutions and will add tremendous value.”
The appointments follow a year of active deployment for Intriva, with four acquisitions made in the past 12 months across several different markets. The most recent acquisitions include MoneyPlus, a market leading consumer debt advice platform in the UK, and Augusta, a residential real estate portfolio in Spain.
